FAQ
General Training Questions
What types of CPR and first aid classes do you offer?
CPR Safety 411 provides nationally recognized CPR, AED, and First Aid training for workplaces, healthcare providers, schools, childcare programs, fitness professionals, and community groups. Classes are offered on-site, in blended formats, and through instructor development programs.
How long do classes usually take?
Class length depends on the course and format. Most CPR and First Aid classes range from 2 to 4 hours, while healthcare-level courses and instructor programs may take longer. We’ll confirm timing when your training is scheduled.
How long is my certification valid?
Most certifications are valid for two years from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated by the issuing organization.
On-Site Training
Do you offer on-site training?
Yes. We specialize in on-site training, bringing all required equipment and instruction directly to your workplace, school, or facility.
Who conducts the CPR training courses?
Class sizes vary by course, but most on-site sessions work best with 6–20 participants. Larger groups may be split into multiple sessions to ensure quality instruction and proper hands-on practice.
What space or setup is required?
A basic training space is all that’s needed:
• A room large enough for participants to sit and practice skills on the floor or tables
• Chairs
• Optional projector or TV (not required)
We’ll review logistics with you ahead of time to make setup easy.
Do you travel outside Central Pennsylvania?
Yes. CPR Safety 411 regularly provides training throughout Central Pennsylvania and parts of Upstate New York. Travel availability and fees (if any) are discussed during scheduling.
Instructor Training
Do you offer CPR Instructor Courses?
Yes. CPR Safety 411 offers American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor Development Programs, including BLS and Heartsaver instructor courses.
What are the prerequisites to become an instructor?
Instructor candidates must already hold a current provider-level certification issued by the American Heart Association in the discipline they wish to teach. Prerequisites are reviewed before enrollment to ensure eligibility.
What is included in instructor training?
Instructor courses include:
• Faculty-led training
• Required instructor materials
• Skills evaluation and monitoring
• Guidance on teaching, paperwork, and issuing certifications
• Instructor card issuance upon successful completion
Do I need my own equipment to start teaching?
Some basic equipment is required to begin teaching independently (such as manikins and AED trainers). In many cases, CPR Safety 411 can assist with sourcing new or second-hand equipment or help you understand what’s required before purchasing.
How are certifications issued?
Certifications are issued electronically (eCards) through the appropriate issuing organization. Participants receive an email with instructions to claim their card.
How long does it take to receive my certification?
Most eCards are issued within a few business days after successful course completion. In some cases, issuance may take up to 10 business days, depending on the program.
How do I verify my certification?
Each issuing organization provides its own verification tools. Instructions are included with your eCard email. You can also visit our Verify Certification page for guidance.
I didn’t receive my eCard email — what should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder. If you still don’t see it after the expected timeframe, contact CPR Safety 411 and we’ll be happy to assist.
How do I request training?
On-site training requests can be submitted through our website. Once we receive your request, we’ll follow up to confirm details, pricing, and availability.
When is payment due?
Payment terms are discussed during scheduling. Certifications are issued once payment has been received, unless otherwise arranged.
